RACISM AND VIOLENCE
Peace be upon you, as well as the mercy of God and his blessings.
“O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”(Quran 49:13)
We are deeply disturbed with the senseless death of George Floyd in the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis.
As Muslims, we always live our life according to the Quran. In the heart of Muslims, there is no room for racism. Allah tells us that the diversity of life is a sign of Allah’s majesty, and for us to learn about humility, equality, and the appreciation of differences.
We recognize that various types of racism can be found in our community. We committed to educate, train and dialogue with the other organizations to combat racism.
We also condemn all forms of police brutality throughout the United States and the world.
The Indonesian Muslim Foundation prays for all the victims of police brutality. We are in solidarity and support of our brothers and sisters in the African American community. Our condolences to our brothers and sisters in the African American community who lost their friends and families of the innocent victims of police brutality.
May God show us the right path to liberty, justice and equality. And upon you be peace, as well as the mercy of God and his blessings
